God fucking damn it. Luca, did you finally figure out what those components were?

I'm getting really tired of this shit, and I'm hoping what we find there will help us out.

Ground Rules.

We've been arguing long and hard about this, only to finally decide not to take the blog down.

I still think keeping this thing active is a danger to all of us, but unfortunately, I can't eliminate it. At least not by myself. And until the rest of the guys realize it, I'm afraid this thing's still going to be here. But that doesn't mean we can't take some measures to ensure everyone's safety. I got the whole group together and we came up with some rules that should keep us relatively okay until we figure out what's going on:

1. Trackers:
This one should be fairly simple: we opened a private facebook group and are to report on it every three hours at most. That way we constantly know where every member is and what they're doing. It should prevent what happened to Sophie from repeating itself.

2. Posts:
We can't know if the person that took those pictures found us through this blog, but we aren't taking any chances. Posts from now on will be strictly for status updates (which is the only reason we have for keeping this blog). Nothing about our personal lives.

3. Chats:
We're revealing too much on them, and they aren't helping us with the paranoia. They're forbidden from now on.

I'm also going to send those pictures to the police later today and discuss the events of the blog until now. We ought to seek some assistance from higher authorities.

I know not everyone was comfortable with every single one of these rules, but overall, we all agreed that these three were the ones to stick. For our sake.

We're pretty sure those pictures are of me.

We've been discussing this for a while. The place depicted in them looks a lot like a park near my house, and although we can't really distinguish the man in the picture, it does look like he's about my height. I also remember being in the park and doing things like the ones depicted in the photos, but I don't remember seeing anyone taking them. Then again, I don't think the person wanted to be seen.

We're discussing what to do right now, and shutting the blog down is a serious possibility  By shutting down I mean completely erasing it and our profiles to make sure we can't be found again. I'm now convinced this isn't some mythical creature, but some psycho trying to fuck with us, and I'm not taking any chances.

We'll update as the situation develops.

It's not a suit, if that's what you all were thinking. I think I see sneakers, clothes look a little loose but I could be wrong. Face is obscured by tree. I see a hand, and it is holding something. Is that a pair of little kid shoes or a wrapped up box? It's too hard to make out.

So, I finally got through that camera from a while back. It was hell to get to them 'cause of my having to get new cables and even new parts because this thing was just freaking mangled. But the pictures.. I dunno, they're weird. They're really distorted, and I can hardly tell whats going on in them. So, here they are, I'll let you interpret them to the best of your ability without my influence.

 

News

We managed to piece together a bit of what happened to Sophie.

We started with the facts: We saw her the day before her birthday. After that she was missing for approximately one week, and she had just recently shown up again.

After a bit of research, mainly consisting of calling a bunch of people, we discovered that she stayed at her cousins, and told them she had no previous plans.

She stayed there one night, and then left. From there on, we haven't been able to figure out what  she was doing or where she was up until that post.

That is all.

Annoyed

Gosh, I know I'm not the best person in the world, but I didn't get a single happy birthday wish via text today and nobody came to my house. My 'rents aren't home either, I think they went on a surprise weekend trip or something, so fuck them.

Y'know? I don't care. Fuck birthdays. I'm tired, I can hardly see the screen in front of me, I'm irritated, I'm probably PMSing... I'm just going to curl up in my bed and sleep for the night. Later.

Guys, we're starting to get a bit worried about Sophie.

She missed her birthday party yesterday. At first I thought she had just forgotten, but we haven't been able to find her lately. She's not at her house and isn't answering her phone. Her folks aren't all that worked up about it: Sophie and they don't exactly have the best of relationships, so she goes missing on them pretty often, but she usually comes over to one of our houses. Or at least lets us know where she's going before she sets off.

We've been calling hotels around the area to see if she registered on any of them. So far, no luck. Her folks aren't calling the police on something like this again, and the authorities would probably not take it very seriously by now. They're probably in the right: As I said, Sophie does do this often, but still... I don't know, it's kinda unlike her to disappear like this.

She's been nervous about all of that Slenderbullshit lately and I'm kinda worried she went off and did something stupid. I know some of the people following this blog had talked to her before. Did she say anything about leaving? Do you know where she could be right now?

Birthday

Tomorrow's my birthday. I'm trying to build up excitement for it, looking at the plus sides: I'll get cake and maybe it'll be fun.

To Salvage or Not To Salvage

So, I got Ava's camera ready to be picked apart.

I'unno exactly if I'll be able to get to the memory or whatever by dismantling it, but I'll do what I can. Heheh, for once my skills with technology is useful in this group.

Also, due to some... family disagreements with how I view myself, I'm probably gonna end up spending a lot of the winter over at the others' places, depending on whats going on, so I might not be making many comments or posts (like that's any different than before but whatever) for the next while. Which is probably for the best right now, we need all the time we can get to make sure Sophie's party goes smoothly~

But back to the camera thing for a second. If I find anything, I'll probably talk to Tom and/or Ava about it and see what they want to do from there, but until then, Luca out.

Clearing Up The Air.

I might have just gotten a bit freaked out last night.

Rest assured, I am alive and well. I just so happened to be caught of guard by a... Really good Slenderman cosplayer. Why am I even surprised? Ever since Slender came out, everyone and their damn dog knows about Slenderman, and there was bound to be some Slendermen's running around asking for candy. I just so happened to cross paths with one of the most convincing disguises I've seen until now.

I'm fine now, tho. No need to worry.

Okay, I just want to make one thing incredibly clear: I still don't believe any of this shit is real. I might have been a bit scared of that costume, but that doesn't change the fact that any of this is just some sort of weird universal fiction tale.

But still, if this were to be true, what could we do to prepare?

Oh fucking hell, this is it. He's outside,hes fucking outside. How did I not see this coming? Why did i try to ignore it? Bloody shit, I'm dead, arent I? You've probably been wondering what happened to Ava during the last couple of days.

We hadn't been able to get ahold of her until earlier today. She finally answered one of my texts. As it turns out, some kind of bug bit her while she was out in the woods and she ended up catching a fever. She should be back to school by tomorrow.

Yeah, I'm kinda disappointed, too.

Nightmares

It's all this project's fault. The nightmares won't go away and they're been plaguing me since after we started.

Nothing's working and this doesn't feel like a game anymore. It wasn't funny in the first place, and it's certainly not funny now...

Alright, did the sketches. Got lazy a little on anatomy, but these pictures are 10x better than my dog drawing them for me-

No I did not cheat and give my dog a marker. That's stupid.

So first up, I have a picture of one of the most universally known symbols associated with Slenderman.

It's called the Operator Symbol. Just a simple circle with an X through it.

Some say it attracts tall, slim, and handsome, while others say you live longer if you keep drawing these, kinda like a protective charm? I'm surprised none of the protagonists have used salt circles on him, but hey, that's just my preference.

Secondly, I have made a size chat, with a height inbetween the reported 8-13 feet, so I gave him a modest height of 9 feet for this demo pic.

I'd say 6'0 is tall for a girl, a decent height for most men, so imagine standing next to the faceless guy in black.

Nobody was kidding when they say that he's tall. A girl about my height only goes up to his waist, so it's no wonder he's a subject of nightmares.

So yeah, here's a bonus picture I doodled for you all, at the same time, to show his other very known feature:

Some say he has tentacle-like things that come out of his back.

Interesting Elements

As we were told to add a bit of personal aspects to the project, I supposed I will have to include this. The most interesting thing about the Slendermythos is that, if you look at it correctly, it is like a game. There are four types of players, and two groups. The 'good' and the 'bad' groups.

Slenderman and the proxies fall under the 'bad' group. Most people know about them, so I will address the 'good' group.

Runner are the most common of this group, but in my research I discovered a slightly less known about group.

Fighters.

This group does not have much to do with the Slenderman himself, but I find them to be interesting.

They are the runners who put aside their own safety to make sure others are safe. They are the selfless few who fight back instead of hiding in the shadows waiting for something to happen. I have to admit, they are fascinating and I admire them.

Also, this is the thirteenth post. Did you all know that thirteen is the tarot card number for Death?

Man, there are so many interpretations and pictures of this guy. Some of them are really freaky. And his height seems to range from like, 7 feet to 13 feet, depending on who you ask.

The History of The Slenderman

Slenderman originated on the Something Awful forums.

These first links should be enough to show how the myth evolved from a single set of pictures to nearly dominating the thread. This was the birth of Slenderman, and as you can see from the dates on the posts, it occurred around mid 2009.

From the initial posts, Slenderman spread across the internet. Of course, from there, it spread to the blogging and vlogging communities. The main three vlogs are known by most of the slenderfans, but I shall list them here for the sake of our Instructor and anybody who does not know.

We had a slow day yesterday at school, so I decided to take a look at it, seeing how it's creator is apparently following the project...

I finished it at about 1:30AM last night.

I didn't sleep well.

What Is The Slenderman?

The Slenderman is usually identified as a tall, thin, pale man. He is often depicted wearing a suit, has no facial features, is extremely tall (His exact height may vary from person to person [Read on for clarification]) and tends to have multiple tentacles. He is known to stalk people from a distance, causing extreme paranoia and sickness with his presence, until his victims eventually disappear. Little is known of what he does to them, but many have theorized. His presence is usually announced by electric artifacts (Usually cameras or televisions) malfunctioning.

Although this is the general consensus of what Slenderman is and does, many have varied the character in several ways. These variations include (But aren't necessarily): Arms instead of tentacles, teleportation powers, time-control powers, having a face or face-like features, the ability to take on the form of other people or beings, intelligence level, behavior, height, etc.

He has also been known to hypnotize or convince humans so they will serve under his command. These people are known as "proxies", and they usually sabotage the Slenderman's victims and kill the people that get in his way. As mentioned before, while most people are "hypnotized" (With their memories being erased after the act, so they won't remember anything), some of them serve willingly. These are known as "agents".

This is my list for the variety of names given to Slenderman. For the sake of simplicity I am going to refer to him as Slenderman the whole time, however this list will still be a good item to have in our report. The names will be arranged alphabetically from the first letter and this list will be updated as we discover new names. I will also be using different lists for different languages, as The Slenderman seems to have influence with the German culture. Translates will be provided for separate languages. These names will be from any perspective on the Slenderman, from victim to proxy. I will also note that the translations are from online sites and so may be inaccurate. If this is the case, I apologize and will fix it if the correct translation is left.

Hello, Blogger.  My name is Luca Pesce, and I am another member of this interesting group project.

I'm not entirely certain what I'm supposed to oversee, but I'm sure the others will tell me what I can do.  You could call me the one who fills in the blanks of this group; I'll do whatever jobs nobody else wants to do, or what everybody forgot to do.

As for me myself, I'd like to clear up one thing.  I am androgynous.  If it's alright with you, I'd prefer to be referred to with gender-neutral pronouns.  Whichever variation of those you choose is up to you.  I know some of my friends don't really like to do that, for simplicity reasons, and that's okay too.

I'm pretty excited about our topic.  I've always liked reading creepypasta at all hours of the night, and I think this will be a nice way to channel all that interest.  Of course, I'm not as into "actual" paranormal things like Sophie is, but it's still an interesting topic.

Hopefully, this will be as fun a project as it looks to be.

I am really freakin exited for this project. I've already been researching paranormal experiences and the like on my own, but when Tom brought the project idea up... I'm glad we badgered our teacher into letting us do this.

Hello Blogger. My name is Ava Willow. As you may have read from Tom's post, we are using this blog for a school project. Tom, myself, and two of our friends will be researching and creating reports based on a series of various different online media creations centered around a being known as "The Slenderman" "Slenderman" or a number of other names that I shall list in a separate section of the report. This being is from a series of blogs, vlogs, audiologs and several other pieces of media commonly known as "The Slenderman Mythos".

As my partner Tom previously stated, the purpose for this blog is simply to get in touch with other Blogger users for information about the myths and legends regarding Slenderman and the Slenderman Mythos.

I personally do not understand why we choose to do this report on something that does not have a moral or a lesson unlike other mythological tales, however, it took a long discussion with our instructor to allow us this topic for our report. It would be pointless to change it to a different topic.

I will be doing my best to make certain that everything in our report is understandable, correct in both grammar and spelling, and organized in a proper format. I hope that our presentation is pleasing to both you and our instructor.

Step One: The Project and Introductions.

Well, hello blogger. You must be wondering why I've gathered you here. I would like to introduce myself: My name is Tom Charter. I am a senior high-school student, and me and my friends will be using this blog for my English class project.

The task was very straight forward: An analysis on a series of books of stories we liked and their author. We were to join in teams of four and bring in a report by the end of the month.

Still, after a bit of arguing with our professor, I convinced him to let us make our report on something a bit more interesting: The series of blogs and vlogs commonly known as "The Slenderman Mythos". Why, you ask? Well, because ever since the Marble Hornets series first aired, it's become one of the biggest phenomenons on the internet. There are thousands of blogs, vlogs and even videogames dedicated to the story. It has spawned conventions, parodies and even several forum websites dedicated only to discuss theories on the mysterious being known as "The Slenderman" (Which we will talk plenty about on the future).

We decided to create this blog in order to get in touch with other bloggers, who might help us understand the stories a bit better (If they can get out of character for long enough not to threaten our lives) and correct us if we make any mistakes.
